INTERNSHIPS - Hardly a week goes by that C.D.W.R. doesn't receive at least one inquiry about possible internships in wildlife rehabilitation. The C.D.W.R. is a nonprofit corporation but we have no central rehabilitation facility. All wildlife care and rehabilitation is done in the homes of our trained and permitted rehabilitators. Our organization survives on grants and donations and all funds received go to purchase food and supplies for the animals. We have no paid staff. In fact, much of the expense involved in the care and treatment of our "patients" is borne by the individual rehabilitator. We cannot offer true internships. However, if you live in the area of El Paso, Texas, or Las Cruces, New Mexico, we can arrange for you to work with an experienced wildlife rehabilitator and receive the training you need to obtain your own permit. CONTACT US AT: whowe@WHC.net if you are interested.
